about edlx

edlx is a music, arts and movement community based in lisbon. we produce events that bring together live music, dance, art, and good people in good spaces.

no phones on the dance floor. no shoes required. come as you are.

what is ecstatic dance? +
a freeform, barefoot dance practice. no steps to learn, no right or wrong way to move. the space is alcohol-free, phone-free, and conversation-free on the dance floor. you follow the music and your body does the rest.
do I need dance experience? +
not at all. people of all ages, backgrounds, and movement levels attend. the movement masterclass at noon is a great entry point if you're new. just come as you are.
how do I get there? +
about 30 minutes from central Lisbon by car, in the hills of Mafra. free parking on site. you can also take a train to Mafra station and grab a short taxi. join our whatsapp community to find rides and carpool with others. address: Estrada Nacional 8, Barras, Gradil, 2665-006 Mafra.
can I stay overnight? +
yes. on-site accommodation including rooms and glamping options. book directly through doma.pt and use code AVI for a discount.
is there food and drink? +
yes. restaurant on site (open until 22:00), café and bakery (open until 15:00), plus a tea house and wellness area throughout the day. this is an alcohol-free event — the bar serves non-alcoholic drinks, teas, and fresh juices.
can I bring children? +
yes, children are welcome and enter for free. there is a kids area, the pool, forest trails, and plenty of open space. children must be supervised by an adult at all times.
what should I wear? +
comfortable clothes you can move freely in. layers are good — warm during the day, cooler at night. bring swimwear for the pool. the dance floor is barefoot.
what is the equinox? +
the moment when day and night are equal length. the first day of spring. across cultures, people have marked this shift with gatherings and celebrations. we mark it with live music, ceremony, dance, and art.
